Seven Rules of the Road for Life in the LEFT LANE
Drive on the LEFT. The driver should keep their "shoulder on the shoulder".
Drive slowly the speed limit on most roads is 25 mph, unless marked otherwise. Roads can be curvy in unexpected places, and mongoose run across the road faster than the chickens and goats.
Wear your seatbelt. It's the law.
Local drivers frequently stop on the side (or in the middle) of the road to talk. Wait, or go around us carefully.
If you want to pull over and take a photo, go ahead! Pull at least two tires off the road and limit time to a couple of minutes.
If hailing a taxibus, use the index finger for a signal rather than the thumb.
If you hear a car horn, don't assume the driver is mad at you. Horn honks here on St. Croix also mean "Hello," "Go ahead", "I'm going to go first", or "I feel like honking my horn" watch and learn.
